Sarah Wolfe, Master Aesthetician

Although her original intention was to become a makeup artist, aesthetics school uncovered in Sarah a talent and fondness for treating the skin and its conditions; that was in 2003, and she has followed that path ever since. In the intervening years, she has cultivated an intuitive way of practicing aesthetics that has her patients hooked. Performing spa facials ranks as her favorite way to spend her day at work unless of course, she’s lucky enough to be receiving one herself. Sarah hopes to someday spend a summer in France, where she could put her high school French to work (it wasn’t terribly useful in her native Michigan), become fluent, and immerse herself in the culture. In the meantime, road trips fulfill her need to wander. She loves to drive somewhere new while she blasts her favorite music or listens to an audiobook.

Susan Slewing, Master Aesthetician

Prior to living in Salt Lake City, Susan lived and worked in Las Vegas, moving her way up from graphics to creative director for magazines and advertising agencies for several years before moving to Salt Lake. The passion for advertising and design was flagging and she was unsure what to do next. As luck would have it, she was enlightened by a visit to a medical aesthetician. Susan had had a mustache since she was 13 years old, and over the years had developed a deep, intimate relationship with Sally Hansen’s Bleaching cream. After having laser hair removal treatment on her upper lip, she was hooked. It worked! And it made her happy. She knew what her next career step would be, and she obtained her Master Aesthetician license in 2006. Given her affinity for science, Susan took to laser physics like a fish to water and has become our resident laser guru. Her favorite treatment is whichever one will do the very best in correcting the patient’s biggest concern, as she finds it fulfilling in a deepest and satisfying way to ease to the worries and concerns of those she treats. Susan enjoys gardening, cooking, and painting. Her artwork can be seen gracing the walls of our practice.

Elle LaSalle, Master Aesthetician

Elle was born and raised in Utah and grew up as a competitive gymnast which guided her to find a love for health and nutrition. While working on her Health Promotion and Nutrition degree at the University of Utah, Elle found a connection to skincare and discovered a love for working with people. In 2016 Elle decided to further her education and became a licensed Master Aesthetician. There isn’t a treatment that she does not love to perform, from clinical facials to laser treatments. Anything that brings results and happiness to a client is what makes working in this field so rewarding for her. When Elle is not focusing on aesthetics you can find her riding her Harley motorcycle, hanging out with family and friends or camping. She has a can’t stop, won’t stop mentality and is ready to conquer any patients’ concerns.

Colle Jordan, Master Aesthetician

Colle’s passion for helping others with their skin originated from her own struggle with acne as a teen and young adult. On her journey to discover how to treat her own skin, she became intrigued by the way the skin works and its overall function. She earned her Master Aesthetics license in 2006, where she worked as a Master Aesthetician in the Spa Industry, before moving from Salt Lake City to southern California in 2011 where she worked in a clinical facial center that focused on skin conditions such as anti-aging and acne. After moving back to the Salt Lake City area in 2018, Colle was excited to be welcomed to Barr Aesthetics as a Master Aesthetician where she could share her experience and talents for improving skin health for her clients. She specializes in improving the keratin layer of the skin, exfoliation, deep pore cleansing, and balancing skin hydration while pampering each client to make each experience relaxing and enjoyable. In addition to helping people with their skin, Colle also enjoys hiking with her dog, trail running, listening to music, and going to concerts.

Chase bio image

Chase Cansler, RN, MSN, FNP-BC

Chase was born and raised in Indiana. While studying biomedical engineering in college, Chase discovered his passion for nursing. Travel nursing brought him to Utah where he fell in love with the active, outdoor lifestyle! During his three years of travel nursing, Chase earned a master’s degree in leadership management, specializing in nursing informatics. Additionally, Chase holds a second certification as a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner through the University of Cincinnati. He has spent the past seven years working primarily in the operating room assisting surgeons in a variety of specialties.

Outside the office, Chase is passionate about staying active, so you’ll find him at the gym, or doing yoga to keep his mind and body healthy. Other hobbies include, enjoying the outdoors, playing tennis, spending time with friends, traveling, being creative, and learning.

His goal as a provider is to deliver comprehensive, holistic, patient centered care in order to create an individual patient experience and generate optimal results. Chase believes that helping people look good, feel good, and do good, is the most rewarding aspect of his journey in healthcare.

Alexis Squire, RN BSN

Alexis has always thrived on making connections with those around her and this is one of the reasons why she became a nurse. She spent 10 years in the operating room as a surgeon’s assistant, but came to the realization that sleeping patients weren’t her thing. She went on to become a Labor and Delivery nurse and loved her time there but when the opportunity to work at Barr aesthetics opened up she knew she had found her home in the aesthetic industry. She loves the opportunity to get to know her patients and work with them on a personalized treatment plan to help enhance their natural beauty.

Rylee Bender

Rylee Bender, Patient Services

Rylee entered the beauty industry right out of high school when she earned her barbering and
cosmetology license. Although her profession revolved around hair, Rylee has always admired the art of aesthetic procedures and treatments.
“It’s fascinating that you can enhance your appearance. People should always feel like they can do whatever they want for themselves; it creates confidence and empowerment. It also allows people to use their creativity to sculpt their own standard of beauty rather than try to fit into those made up by others. I love that people can achieve that here at Barr.”

As a homebody, Rylee will often be playing video games for hours, binge watching a tv series or napping. In the summertime, she loves to lay out by the pool and travel south for boating and palm trees. Despite her lazy hobbies, she also enjoys staying active in the gym. In recent years, Rylee was a personal trainer, bodybuilder, and powerlifter. Due to injuries, she ultimately decided to “calm down” and focus more on keeping herself healthy and happy.
In the office, Rylee takes interest in genuine conversation. If she doesn’t mean it, she won’t say it. You’ll likely find her at the front desk where she’ll discuss common interests and skin care products and treatments. She believes relating to others and validating their words is what keeps good company.

Her goal is to become a jack of all trades and grow into an administrative role as well as expand her knowledge in aesthetics.

Aileena Kalapa, Patient Services

Aileena was born and raised in Utah and is the oldest of 4. She grew up being the “2nd mom” to her siblings and is the biggest “girly girl” compared to the rest of her family members. Her love for makeup, fashion and all things beauty started at the age of 4 when her mom put her in her first dance class. She loved getting dressed up in costumes and putting on makeup the way she had watched her mom put on makeup in the mornings.

She decided that she did not want a regular 9-5 boring call center job so she went back to school to become a licensed esthetician. She has been a licensed esthetician since September of 2021 and is constantly wanting to learn more about the beauty industry which is why she wanted to be an employee at Barr Aesthetics. She loves working up at the front and seeing how happy patients are when they are checking out after their treatment.

Outside of work, you can catch Aileena at the gym or doing some retail therapy whether that is online or in store. She is a foodie and loves to try new restaurants, especially dessert places. Her happy place is the beach and always mentions that she would want to be a beach bum in Hawai’i.

Alma Amezquita, Patient Services

Alma was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. She loves hiking and hanging out with friends and family. Alma grew up a tomboy so her interest in the beauty industry didn’t start until her junior year of high school when she joined her school’s drill team and had to start doing her makeup for performances.

After graduating high school, she got a job as a dental assistant, and realized she loved caring and helping others but didn’t want to pursue dental school, so she decided to change course and go to aesthetic school to pursue her love for all things beauty. She became a master aesthetician in 2020 right before the pandemic. She decided to open her own studio and offered facials, waxing, and lash extensions. In 2022 she chose to follow her passion for hair removal and learned the technique of sugar hair removal. After a year, Alma decided to take a break from being a provider after realizing how much she missed the atmosphere of working in a doctor’s office and was blessed with the opportunity to work at Barr Aesthetics. You’ll find her at the reception desk greeting and helping patients with any questions or concerns they may have.

Jennifer Dorius, Office Manager

Jennifer got her start in the medical industry in 1990 working in medical sales and moved on to the orthopedic industry in 2000. She began working with Dr. Barr in 2013, and after a brief break, she is back in the front office, where her accounting experience and eye for detail come in handy regularly. Her time in this industry has given her a solid foundation of knowledge about many of the treatments and products we utilize, making her a great resource for patients. Spa facials are her go-to treatment for both happiness and skin health, and EltaMD UV Clear, tretinoin, and Jane Iredale are among her favorite products in her home care regimen.

Jennifer was born and raised in Bountiful, UT. A tomboy and outdoor enthusiast at heart, activities such as hiking, camping, skiing, snowshoeing, and snorkeling keep Jen’s attention in her free time. When she’s not playing hard outside, she can often be found curled up with a good book, satisfying her love of reading.
